Sign up with your email (or Google/Apple), then search for your university during onboarding. Course Compass loads that school's real course catalog and degree requirements automatically — no manual data entry needed. If your school isn't listed yet, request it and we'll prioritize adding it.
After picking your school, choose your major, your pace (4-year, accelerated, part-time, etc.), and whether you're in an honors program. Course Compass's AI builds a full semester-by-semester plan in under two minutes, with every prerequisite and credit requirement already validated against your school's catalog.
Your dashboard has four main tabs: Plan (your semester-by-semester roadmap), Progress (GPA and credit tracking), AI Tools (Detector and Humanizer), and More (professor ratings, transfer evaluator, career insights, and the Grad School Hub). Tap any card on the dashboard to jump straight into that feature.
Your account and plan sync automatically between the iOS app, Android app, and the web app at app.course-compass.com — sign in with the same account and everything (your plan, progress, and settings) stays in sync. Some features, like scanning a transcript, are easiest on mobile, but every feature is available on both.
From your dashboard, tap "Plan" and follow the setup: confirm your school, major, pace, and honors status. The AI Degree Planner then builds a full plan from your school's real, current course catalog, validating every prerequisite and credit requirement. You can regenerate or adjust it anytime.
Go to Plan settings and update your major, add or remove a minor, or change your pace (for example, switching from 4-year to accelerated). Course Compass rebuilds your remaining semesters around the new requirements without losing courses you've already completed.
In your plan settings, toggle on "Honors College" and select your specific honors program if your school has more than one. Course Compass adds the honors-specific coursework and credit requirements into your plan automatically.
Every plan is built directly from your school's real, current course catalog and validated against actual prerequisites, credit limits, and degree requirements — not a generic template. That said, we always recommend confirming your final plan with your academic advisor before registering, since requirements can change between catalog updates.
Go to the Transfer Evaluator and upload your transcript as a PDF or a clear photo. Our AI reads every course, grade, and credit automatically — no manual entry needed. This works for an unofficial or official transcript.
Once uploaded, the evaluator compares every course on your transcript against your target school's course catalog and maps each one to "Transfers," "Partial credit," or "Retake required," so you know exactly what carries over before you commit to a school.
"Transfers" means the course counts directly toward a requirement at your new school. "Partial" means it counts for elective or general credit but not a specific requirement. "Retake" means the credit doesn't transfer and you'd need to take an equivalent course at your new school.

Every account starts free with your first degree plan (first semester unlocked), Course Pulse for one course, and the requirements checker. Need another plan without subscribing? Extra plans are a one-time $2.99 each, and buying one also unlocks your full first plan. Premium gives you unlimited plans and Course Pulse for every class.
You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime from Account settings in the app, or through your App Store/Google Play subscription settings if you subscribed there. Canceling takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.

The Grad School Hub includes an application tracker where you can log each program you're applying to, its deadline, and its status, so nothing slips through the cracks during application season.
For pathways that require experience hours — like Pre-Med's clinical hours or Pre-Law's legal experience — the Hub has a dedicated hours log where you record activities, dates, and hours, which rolls up into a running total for your applications.
The Hub's test score tracker keeps your MCAT, LSAT, GRE, or other scores in one place, and the letter-of-recommendation manager tracks who you've asked, their status, and deadlines for each recommender.
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password?" and enter your account email. We'll send a reset link — this works the same way on web, iOS, and Android since they share one account.
