Course Compass ("Course Compass," "we," "us") provides an AI academic planning app for students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, iOS and Android apps, and related services (together, the "Services").

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information you provide, such as your name, email, school, and major.
• Academic information you add or upload, including your courses, grades, GPA, and transcripts you submit for evaluation.
• Plan and goal preferences, such as your selected pace, honors status, and grad-school pathway.
• Payment information, processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
• Usage and device data, such as app interactions, device type, and general location, collected automatically to operate and improve the Services.

We use your information to:

• Generate and maintain your degree plans, audits, and progress tracking.
• Evaluate transcripts and transfer credits you upload.
• Provide professor ratings, tuition data, career insights, and grad-school planning features.

Some data shown in the app, such as professor ratings, comes from publicly available third-party sources and is governed by those sources' terms.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You can delete your plans or your account at any time, and we will delete or de-identify your personal information unless we're required to keep it for legal, security, or accounting reasons.

6. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or limit certain processing. You can exercise these rights in the app or by contacting us. We won't discriminate against you for exercising them.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to keep your data safe and to notify you of significant incidents where required.

8. Students & minors

Course Compass is built for college students and is not directed to children under 13. If you are a minor, please use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We handle student academic records with care and in line with applicable education-privacy laws.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
